That's Doctor Frank Quitely To You

As Glasgow's Kelvingrove Art Gallery puts on an extensive gallery dedicated to comic book writer and artist Frank Quitely, he is about to be made a doctor by the city's university.

Under his real name, Vincent Deighan, he will receive an honorary doctorate from the University of Glasgow later this year.

Quitely's work for comics including 2000AD, The Authority, The Greens, New X-Men, All-Star Superman, Batman And Robin, Sandman, Multiversity and Jupiter's Legacy has been much acclaimed. But now we can expect a "Dr" in those comic book credits.

Frank Quitely: The Art of Comics runs at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum from today until October.
