The Witches Of Adamas Has A Very High Concept Indeed, Even For Manga
The Witches of Adamas is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yu Imai. It has been serialized in Kodansha's seinen manga magazine Monthly Young Magazine since July 2018 and concluded last November, collected into seven individual tankōbon volumes. And now Witches of Adamas has been licensed for English language translation from Seven Seas Entertainment, the first volume published this month under its Ghost Ship adult imprint. And it has quite a high concept. It joins a rise in the bizarre high concept pitch that has been common in manga and light novels in Japan of late, but this might step it up a notch. From the volume 1 listing on Amazon…
A Mature-rated comedy that gives new meaning to "the family jewels"! Satou Yukinari has a very strange medical condition: he ejaculates diamonds. But like all fortunes, it comes with a price. These special gems are worth untold riches, but each one he spurts out cuts a year off his life span! As word spreads of his condition, a trio of beautiful seductress witches descends, starting in his hospital room. Yukinari must overcome sexy but deadly temptation if he wants to live, but boy these witches are persistent!
Future volumes develop this theme, Witches of Adamas has its volume 2 in May…
SMELLS LIKE TROUBLE! Satou Yukinari already ejaculates literal diamonds, but his curse is still evolving! He's been holding back from getting off so long that he's begun to produce Hottie Pheromones, the effects of which flip his once peaceful school life on its head. A harem of thirsty girls all want a whiff, and before he can escape, it culminates in a buxom teacher ensnaring him in a classroom after school!
Volume three in October… and volume four in January next year. Diamonds are a boy's best friend, perhaps?
