Two Comic Stores Close in North Carolina
Two comic book stores in North Carolina are two close.
First, Arkham Comix in the town of Wilson will be closing this Sunday for good. The business will be consolidating to the company's other store in nearby Rocky Mount.
Arkham Comix Wilson will be closing its doors Sunday August 25th for good. Thank you everyone for your support and we hope you continue to support us in our Rocky Mount location! Come check out our sales through Sunday.
Well folks, it's been one heck of a ride since The Comic Conspiracy opened it's doors for business in May of 1978, but in the words of the immortal George Harrison… All Things Must Pass. On Saturday September 14, I'll be locking the door to the brick and mortar store for the final time. With the help of unforeseen circumstances I have decided that it's time to pack it up, take it home, and start working online for the foreseeable future. Come on by the shop and pay your respects to what for one more month is the oldest comic book shop in North Carolina. Thanks to everyone who supported The Comic Conspiracy for 40+ years. I hope we can all look back on some wonderful memories the shop created. Thank you each and every one.
Adding after people came by,
WOW! Friday was an amazing day here at The Comic Conspiracy. Customers from the "old days" coming buy to say hello and picking up one last item from the shop that both they and their kids grew up with. I didn't see this coming! Thanks guys. For the hugs and the tears and even the thank you cards. So many parts of this that I'm going to miss.
Bleeding Cool tries to mark the passing of comics stores as well as their opening. Existing fanbases are likely to make the former more well known, but please let us know if a comic store is opening or closing in your neighbourhood. Just e-mail richjohnston@bleedingcool.com.
