Valiant's Secret Weapons #1 Sells Out of 36,000 Print Run – Best-Selling Non-Big Two Mini-Series So Far

The "dead on arrival" description of comic book mini-series at Marvel by Axel Alonso may haunt him, but Valiant continues to keep stitching them together, releasing the electricity and screaming "It's Alive!"

On the heels of the year's biggest non-Big Two comics launch of 2017 with Matt Kindt and Tomas Giorello's X-O Manowar #1, the publisher has announced that Secret Weapons #1 has sold out of its 36,000 copy print run at Diamond and will return with a second printing.

Written by Academy Award nominee Eric Heisserer with art by Raul Allen, the series is first solo starring turn for Valiant heroine Livewire and will apparently set up major elements of next May's Harbinger Wars 2 crossover event – itself set team to Secret Weapons' Heisserer and Allen and together with X-O Manowar's Kindt and Giorello to pull double duty.

Expect more sales records to be set in the near future… And with the impending launches of Bloodshot Salvation, Eternity, Ninja-K, and Quantum and Woody! from Valiant in the coming months, perhaps a few more before 2017 closes out…

Also in second printing news, look for Rapture #1 – the standalone Ninjak/Shadowman mini-event by Kindt and artists CAFU – to return to with a new printing that will arrive in stores on August 9th.
