Mutilating the O5 X-Men in Extermination #2 – What Does This Mean For Iceman? (Spoilers)
The Extermination mini-series from Ed Brisson and Pepe Larraz is intended to 'deal' with the original X-Men, teenagers from the past brought to the present and utterly buggering up the timeline as a result. Well, this series is going to take the tough choices to sort this all out and maybe, just maybe, managing to reduce the number of doppelgangers running around the Marvel Universe right now. Oh and even mention that weird time travel thing that no one has mentioned since.
So in Extermination #2 out today, young Cable, fresh from killing old Cable, and kidnapping young Iceman, adds young Angel to the mix. Since he joined the others going forward in time, his wings were transformed in the Black Vortex storyline, to cosmic-powered energy wings. Which is not in keeping with his earlier version of himself. So it looks as if Cable is going to have to sort that out before he can send them back.
Is this what young Cable is all about? Erasing the changes made to the O5 and then sending them back? Maybe with a mind-wipe?
Because when that comes to Iceman, 'erasure' is going to the be the operative word, isn't it? Has everyone thought that one through?
EXTERMINATION #2 (OF 5)

Writer Ed Brisson (OLD MAN LOGAN, CABLE) and artist Pepe Larraz (UNCANNY AVENGERS, AVENGERS: NO SURRENDER) answer the biggest question of all: can the fate of the X-Men be changed?
