Dracula Untold Isn't Part Of Universal's Monster Universe
It's been unclear if Dracula Untold was going to be part of Universal's Monster Universe for some time. At one point, it most certainly seemed to be the plan, but its status has remained somewhat ambiguous since release.
It seems we have an official word on it now though. Collider report that at a press event for the newly released trailer, The Mummy director Alex Kurtzman revealed that the underwhelming Dracula Untold won't be a part of this universe. When asked, he simply said:
No.
That's pretty definitive then.
This does mean we are probably going to be getting a new Dracula movie before too long. This universe seems to be a fairly action orientated take on these characters, and with that, I'll be interested in seeing what comes of the vampiric chapter.
