While A24 is throwing a lot of marketing budget on The Drama, they have another movie by an acclaimed director set to be released next month. It's not surprising, since of the two, The Drama has much more mainstream appeal than something like Mother Mary, which looks like something we would expect early-2020s A24 to pick up and distribute. We haven't heard anything about this one since the first trailer dropped in December, but now we're starting off again.
We got five new character posters, including the leading ladies Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, but now we have the supporting cast, which includes Hunter Schafer, Kaia Gerber, and FKATwigs. FKATwigs, along with Charlie XCX and Jack Antonoff, will provide original music. If there is one thing you can say about "Wuthering Heights", it is that the music rules and Charlie needs to do more movie soundtracks. Along with the movie posters, we also teased a new single tomorrow.
Considering the plot of Mother Mary, that could mean some of the original music is getting released, or it's a play on words, and we're getting a new trailer. The movie has since gained an official release date since we first learned about it back in December. Mother Mary will be released in theaters on April 17th so just a hop, skip, and a jump away.
