Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Team's Virtual Chat Covers Season 7 Journey
ABC's Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returned Wednesday night with seventh and final season opener "The New Deal" that quickly answered the question we were asking all pre-season. Yup, Coulson (Clark Gregg) and our Agents will need to preserve the origin of Hydra in order for S.H.I.E.L.D. This means Freddy Malick (the father of future Hydra leader Gideon Malick) is going to have some futuristic bodyguards to keep him out of the Chronicoms' sights. Thankfully, May (Ming-Na Wen) is on the mend but we would be lying if we said we weren't a little concerned about how well this Coulson is processing the previous Coulson's memories. And that's just the first episode, with twelve more to go. This is why the following post-premiere virtual chat is essential viewing/listening, as the cast and producers tease the final season while looking back on the previous six seasons and offering their thoughts on saying goodbye to the series.
Which brings us to a quick sneak preview of the next episode "Know Your Onions", where our heroes are forced to weigh their mission's overall goal with what's being asked of them now:
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 7, episode 2 "Know Your Onions": With the identity of the timeline-unraveling "thread" revealed, the team's mission to protect him at all costs leads each agent to question their own values. Is preserving the future of the world as they know it worth the destruction they could prevent? Directed by Eric Laneuville, and written by Craig Titley.
