Cursed Teasers Introduce Nimue's Friends & Foes; The Hidden Summon

With writer/artist Frank Miller (The Dark Knight Returns) and writer/producer Tom Wheeler's (Puss In Boots) Cursed set to tell the tale of Nimue (13 Reasons Why star Katherine Langford) when the Netflix series arrives on Friday, July 17, the streaming service is introducing viewers to the major players in the story still be told. In the first teaser, we meet the teenage heroine with the mysterious gift who's destined to become the powerful (and tragic) Lady of the Lake. Following that, we meet those who will help (and oppose) her along the way: Arthur (Devon Terrell), Merlin (Gustaf Skarsgård), Father Carden (Peter Mullan), and The Weeping Monk (Daniel Sharman).

In the following two teasers, we're also introduced to two very important non-human characters from Cursed: The Hidden and that special sword. We learn that when the former summon, you best listen. As for the latter, we learn that a sword can be powerful without ever needing to be raised in battle:

Cursed is a coming-of-age story whose themes are familiar to our own time: the obliteration of the natural world, religious terror, senseless war, and finding the courage to lead in the face of the impossible. Jon East (Killing Eve), Zetna Fuentes (One Life to Live), and Daniel Netthiem (The Hunter) are dividing directorial duties, with Fuentes executive producing the first two episodes of the 10-episode series, and Wheeler serving as writer and showrunner. Miller and Wheeler will executive produce, with Alex Boden (Sense8) producing and Silenn Thomas serving as co-executive producer.

From Frank Miller and Thomas Wheeler, Cursed is a reimagining of the Arthurian legend told from the perspective of Nimue (Katherine Langford). Armed with mysterious powers and a legendary sword, young rebel Nimue joins forces with charming mercenary Arthur (Devon Terrell) on a mission to save her people.

Netflix's Cursed also stars Devon Terrell (Barry), Gustaf Skarsgård (Westworld, Vikings), Peter Mullan (Ozark), Lily Newmark (Temple, Sex Education), Shalom Brune-Franklin (The State, Our Girl), Daniel Sharman (Fear the Walking Dead, Medici), Sebastian Armesto (Poldark, Broadchurch), Emily Coates (Flack), Catherine Walker (Versailles, The Delinquent Season), Billy Jenkins (The Crown, Holmes & Watson, Humans), Bella Dayne (Humans, Troy: Fall of a City), and more.
