Netflix Releases 'Voltron Legendary Defender' Season 3 Trailer
With Voltron Legendary Defender Season 3 debuting this Friday (August 4th), Netflix has released the full trailer for the upcoming release. A teaser was released for San Diego Comic Con a couple of weeks back, but, to build up excitement for the eminent release, this new trailer was put out for the audience to enjoy.
For those who don't know, Voltron Legendary Defender is the Dreamworks Animation recreation of a classic anime porting about a team of mech pilots who must cooperate to control the giant mech robot known as Voltron, which can split into five different parts. Funnily enough, the first two seasons of the original series were adapted from two different and unrelated anime: Beast King Golion and Fleet Dairugger XV.
The Netflix reboot of Voltron is a comedic action animated series about the team of Shiro, voiced by Josh Keaton, Hunk, voiced by Tyler Labine, Lance, voiced by Jeremy Shada, Pidge, voiced by Bex Taylor-Klaus, and Keith, voiced by Walking Dead star Steven Yeun. It also features the characters Princess Allura, voiced by Kimberly Brooks, and Coran, voiced by Rhys Darby. The series is executive produced by Joaquim Dos Santos, who produced Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra, and Lauren Montgomery, who was also on Legend of Korra.
The team is facing the challenge of Shiro's disappearance in Season 3. They cannot form Voltron without him, and no one else is able to pilot his portion of the robot, the Black Lion.
Seasons 1 and 2 of the series are still available on Netflix for those who are interested and want to catch up on Voltron. As previously stated, Season 3 will debut this Friday, August 4th. It will consist of seven new episodes, and Season 4 will actually be out this October. That season will bring us six new episodes. You can watch the trailer below:
