New Commander In Town: Christopher Meloni Joins 'The Handmaid's Tale' s3

While the ending of Hulu series The Handmaid's Tale season 2 wasn't what many of us were expecting, it does mean we will more than likely be meeting new persons in Gilead in the upcoming third season.

Turns out one such person will be Law & Order's Christopher Meloni, who is joining the series as a Commander.

Joining him is The Haunting of Hill House's Elizabeth Reaser, who will play Meloni's character's wife.

According to Deadline, the pair will play Commander Winslow and Mrs. Winslow. Commander Winslow is touted as a "powerful and magnetic Commander" who will host Commander Waterford (Joseph Fiennes) and Mrs. Waterford (Yvonne Strahovski) on an important trip. Apparently Mrs. Winslow will become an important part of Mrs. Waterford's life during season 3, so we're pretty interested to find out in what capacity this happens.

Season 3 of The Handmaid's Tale is currently in production now, and we'll let you know when Hulu gives an expected release date (probably not til mid 2020, we're thinking).
