'Preacher' Season 4: Seth Rogen Confirms Series' Apocalyptic End, August Premiere [VIDEO]

Looks like Jesse's series-long sermon is about to come to a very apocalyptic end, with series co-creator Seth Rogen taking to social media to confirm that AMC's adaptation of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's comic book series Preacher will end with its upcoming fourth season, officially set to premiere Sunday, August 4, 2019.

When we last left The Saint of Killers (Graham McTavish), he was marching out of Hell and heading straight for a showdown with Jesse (Dominic Cooper), Tulip (Ruth Negga), and Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun). Doing his best Lone Wolf and Cub homage with a still-brooding-over-being-in-Hell-for-no-reason Arseface (Ian Colletti) in tow, The Saint is looking to engage in a high-body-count airing of grievances – and if even Satan himself couldn't stop the cursed gunslinger, what chance does even a Genesis-fueled Jesse have?

Except that Jesse and Tulip are on their way to save a captured Cassidy from the clutches of a now feeling very scorned Herr Starr (Pip Torrens) and the unholy might of The Grail.

Joining the cast during the final season as a series regular is actor/musician Tyson Ritter, frontman for The All American Rejects – but in this universem we know him better for his will dual role of Jesus Christ and modern messiah-wannabe Humperdoo, previously appearing in five episodes in a recurring role.

So what's next for "The Hump"? In season 4, it's finally His turn to take center stage as God's Chosen One — and key to His apocalypse. Only one not-so-small problem: after Jesse let loose the "Crisis on Infinite Hemperdoos," nobody knows where He is. So the race is on — and the apocalypse is off — until this unusual Messiah can be found.

PREACHER is a dramatic thrill ride that follows West Texas preacher Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), his badass girlfriend Tulip (Academy Award nominee Ruth Negga) and an Irish vampire named Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun) as they embark on a road trip to find God and are thrust into a twisted battle spanning Heaven, Hell and everywhere in between.

The 10-episode third season follows Jesse's quest for God which takes him back to the place he's been avoiding his whole life: home. Jesse, Tulip and Cassidy return to Angelville, the Louisiana Plantation where Jesse was raised, and find old grudges and deadly obligations await them. With the help of his friends — and a few enemies — Jesse will need to escape his past…because the future of the world depends on it.
