Saturday Night Live Welcomes Nate Bargatze, Foo Fighters to Studio 8H
Saturday Night Live welcomes host/stand-up comedian Nate Bargatze and musical guest Foo Fighters to Studio 8H for Halloween weekend.
Two shows in, and NBC's Saturday Night Live Season 49 is going through a "Jekyll/Hyde" vibe right now. Kicking things off with a strong, solid start from SNL alum Pete Davidson (Peacock's Bupkis) and musical guest Ice Spice, things took a few steps back this past weekend with host/musical guest Bad Bunny. And that brings us to this weekend's Halloween weekend edition of SNL, with first-time host/stand-up comedian Nate Bargatze taking the stages of Studio 8H with musical guest Foo Fighters – who are definitely no strangers to playing SNL. Why we're excited/hopeful for this weekend? While new to the role, Bargatze is a major stand-up force on the scene right now – and with that comes comfort in performing in front of live crowds (and knowing how to improvise when needed). Plus, you have a host who can get more directly involved with the writing – and never underestimate how much "comedy respects comedy" (sometimes, at least). And did we mention that Foo Fighters was performing? And then there's the tradition of Halloween weekend episodes tend to bring the more "interesting" sketches (we're looking at you, Sarah Sherman & Tom Hanks!).
Here's a look at the start of this week's PR machine for this weekend's SNL, followed by a look back at the long-running sketch comedy/music series' newest cast member and more:
And here's a look at new SNL cast member Chloe Troast getting a chance to "speed round" a whole bunch of questions that help give us a better idea of what to expect (definitely check it out):
NBC's Saturday Night Live Season 49 company includes Michael Che, Mikey Day, Andrew Dismukes, Chloe Fineman, Heidi Gardner, Marcello Hernandez, James Austin Johnson, Punkie Johnson, Colin Jost, Molly Kearney, Michael Longfellow, Ego Nwodim, Sarah Sherman, Kenan Thompson, Chloe Troast, Devon Walker, and Bowen Yang. SNL is executive-produced by Lorne Michaels, with Liz Patrick directing and SNL alum Darrell Hammond announcing. Broadcasting from Studio 8H in Rockefeller Center, the long-running late-night sketch comedy/music series is produced by SNL Studios in association with Universal Television and Broadway Video.
