The cast for the DC Universe Swamp Thing tv series continues to grow.
Deadline is reporting that Will Patton has joined the cast of the streaming series as Avery Sunderland.
As its most prominent businessman, Avery Sunderland (Patton) serves as the de facto patriarch of his Louisiana hometown, always giving back to the community. His benevolent veneer, however, masks a ruthless determination to harness the power of the swamp for profit.
The DC Universe streaming service kicked off their original content with Titans last month, which has garnered mixed to positive reviews despite the fact that fans thought it looked terrible.
At the moment, Swamp Thing has cast Crystal Reed [best known for Gotham and Teen Wolf] as Abby Arcane, Maria Sten [best known for Channel Zero] as Liz Tremayne, Jennifer Beals [best known for Taken and The Night Shift] as Sheriff Lucilia Cable, Virginia Madsen [best known for Designated Survivor and American Gothic] as the wife of Patton's Avery Sunderland Maria Sunderland, and Jeryl Prescott [best known for The Walking Dead] as Madame Xanadu.
The pilot is set to be directed by Len Wiseman, with horror master James Wan's production company Atomic Monster. The series is set to debut on the DC Universe streaming service sometime in 2019.
