The Brother Of All Lockdown Music Videos
Have a little bit of brotherly love, but only thirty seconds worth. My brother is a comedy music performers, a musical comedian, a comedy musician, I have just realised that I don't know what the correct term is, and probably neither does he. Edi Johnston bills himself as "Ukulele Musical Comedy straight outta Notts" and "Ukulele Hiphop Comedy from the former frontman of The Austin Francis Connection". Still, he plays the ukelele and other instruments on stage, does silly songs, a pratfall or two and fills in the gaps with more nonsense, which has come in quite handy on this time of lockdown. It may have delivered him a new audience.
He follows a tradition of Billy Connelly, Bill Bailey, Flight Of The Conchords, The Mighty Boosh, Mitch Benn and the like. He performs on Facebook as The Edi Johnston Bit. And he just released a new video in the TikTok style, but thankfully on social media apps that I can actually access such as YouTube. A thirty-second one-man orchestra song that poses the central question-posing us all at this time of self-isolation and quarantine. He says "when you're in Isolation from the world you have to make all sorts of decisions – Health & Diet, Exercise and Leisure and now that we've been here a good few weeks…. what to do with your Barnet?" Take it away brother.
I'm going with the 'shaggy without a care' approach myself. Let him know your own choice in this regard in his comments. And if you can tolerate him more than you can subscribe to his various videos as well. Maybe we can get his subscriber numbers to a round thousand by the end of the day? If yu have any requests for lockdown-related songs, I bet he can put one of two of them together as well.
