'The Magicians' Season 4 Episode 10: Check Out "All That Hard, Glossy Armor" (PREVIEW)
There are two constants in life: 1, the tax man always tax his cut, and 2… The Magicians will always have a musical episode. Get ready, kids, it's almost time for "All That Hard, Glossy Armor".
This year's installment has a pretty natural fit, too- Margo (Summer Bishil) has been banished from Fillory, and finds herself on a quest to save her best pal, Eliot (Hale Appleman), who is currently possessed by the Monster of Blackspire Castle.
What better way to dramatize an epic quest with such extraordinary stakes than through musical numbers?
Of course, I could be waaaaay off. This could be interpretive mime- but the teaser for this week's episode sure looks like a musical to me!
There's a lot of loose threads dangling right now, with Alice (Olivia Taylor Dudley) revealing that the Library is trying to start a war with the hedge witches, and wants to regulate magic altogether while their at it.
Then you have the mystery of the Monster's quest this season- we've been led to believe he's trying to build his body back, but there's something else going on here. Does the Monster really need a body, when it can jump from host to host at will?
And then there's poor Josh (Trevor Einhorn), who finally gets Margo to admit that she's into him, and now he's stuck at the castle pining for her.
Penny (Arjun Gupta) and Julia (Stella Maeve) are starting to look pretty serious, too, which means my stories are about to get all mushy on me.
This has been a really strange season of The Magicians, with less emphasis on big, god-level doom events, and more of an emphasis on the characters and their relationships, and it's been a nice change of pace!
