Uncovering Another Victim Of Josh Hoopes

We haven't heard from the Sacremento-living comics con man Josh Hoopes for quite some time. But we have tracked down another of his victims. Indian artist Lalit Kumar Sharma.

In March 2008, when I was writing for Lying In The Gutters, I printed these pages supposedly drawn for Ibrahim Amin by Hoopes before Hoopes disappeared. Ibrahim paid Josh for those pages then heard nothing. Well, the identity of the artist has been discovered, and it is unlikely that Lalit was paid a thing.

It's worth bringing this up because there is evidence that Josh Hoopes is operating his scams again, using the alias Ron Runstrom. Publishers, writers, artists, be warned. Make sure you know who you ar dealing with. And that it's not Hoopes running a scam, outsourcing work that never gets paid for then disappearing mid-job. Or posing as Art Adams.
