How To Make Your Very Own Avengers Gatefold Variant

1. Take one standard Avengers #1. Costs $3.99

2. Take one of the Avengers "prints" sold to retailers to give away as part of an Avengers promotion. Maybe give them a dollar for one at least, in light of what you're about to do.

3. Realise that the "print" is, rather than an actual print, basically just the gatefold cover. With cover markings and everything.

4. Remove cover from Avengers #1. Just rip the damn thing off. Send it to DC Comics, maybe they'll send you a ring.

5. Remove the staples from the rest of the comic.

6. Attach the Avengers "print".

7. Get a stapler and staple through the comic, through the holes made by the original stapler.

8. Put it on eBay where the genuine ones go for $65

9. Defy anyone to notice the difference.

10. Get a flashback to putting a hairdryer on a Venom #1 to remove the red webbing metallic ink and create the rare "black Venom #1 variant"
