As previewed yesterday I'm here at the Geek a Week panel to hear the subjects of the trading card series talk about the experience as well as to get the exclusive announcements about what we have in store for season two.
The panel is in one of the large ballrooms in the Hyatt and is about half full.
Len is taking the stage to great applause. He's talking about the origins of the project which we covered yesterday. Hesays the project grew out of his love for Wacky Packages and Star Wars trading cards.
Big applause on the announcement of Geek a Week Season 2 produced by the producer of The Guild. And he's playing the preview video for Season 2. He's set up a project on Kickstarter to fund the production of the cards and will reveal the new ones when he hits various funding milestones. This year it's a 15 card set, but you can get a Geek a Week card of your own if you donate big.

The panel includes MST3K star Bill Corbbit, Paul and Storm, Veronica Belmont, Jonathan Culton, The Bad Astronomer, Tom Merritt, Aaron Douglas and Molly Lewis. It's obvious that Len has a lot of love for all these folks, and the good-natured ribbing they are giving him shows it's reciprocated.
The panelists then recounted some anecdotes about their friendship with Len and their reactions to the cards. Turns out Paul and Storm, who wrote the card back for most of the cards, had Neil Gaiman write theirs.
