That Doctor Who Rumour About The Doctor Falls' Cliffhanger Gets A Closer Confirmation…
Earlier this week, we linked to shots taken by one Doctor Who fan, George Baker, and posted to Twitter (before being deleted) that identified a figure filming the Doctor Who Christmas Special alongside Peter Capaldi. And one that seemed to confirm earlier rumours about the cliffhanger of this Saturday's series ten finale episode, The Doctor Falls.
The rumour has it that David Bradley was to appear as the First Doctor, in the fashion that he played William Hartnell in An Adventure in Time And Space. And then that story would be followed through into the Christmas Special.
The tweet has a haircut that could be identified from a distance – if you squinted a bit.
Well, Matt Whelan, cosplayer and Doctor Who costume dissector, has been posting more set shots from the Doctor Who Christmas Special. Which means a much better close up of David Bradley, walking with Doctor Who assistant director Lauren Pate (no, Matt, not a runner).
No need to squint anymore.
As for the regeneration, the new Doctor Who Magazine quotes writer and showrunner Steven Moffat as saying "The Doctor is mortally wounded, staggering out of the TARDIS into the snow and starting to regenerate. What you're seeing is the beginning of the process" confirming that the end will only happen in the Christmas Special.
Doctor Who: The Doctor Falls airs an hour-long episode on BBC 1 this Saturday at 6.30pm and on BBC America at 9pmET.
