'Mech Cadet Yu' By Greg Pak And Takeshi Miyazawa Will Be An Ongoing Series

Mech Cadet Yu #1, an original series about a boy and a giant robot that reteamed Amadeus Cho-creators Greg Pak (Weapon X) and Takeshi Miyazawa (Ms. Marvel) from Boom! Studios, has sold out at the distributor level in its first week. (Though may still be in your local shops, though, if you missed it, along with Mister Miracle #1 and Totally Awesome Hulk #22 — yeah right.)

It was also one of Boom!'s best-reviewed launches of the year. Seems only logical the planned four-issue limited series should be given a "promotion" of sorts. Maybe make it an ongoing series? Word is that's what Boom plans to do, just in time for issue #2's final order cut-off deadline on Monday.

I've heard retailers are being advised right now, or rather those that have participated in the Boom Studios Retailer Guarantee programme – the successor to their Innovators programme.

Anyway, ongoing Mech Cadet Yu. Something to tide you over while you wait for the next Pacific Rim movie, perhaps?

Issue #2 of this new ongoing series goes on sale on September 13th.
