Requiem Revealed and Yet More Major Deaths in Infinity Wars #1 (SPOILERS)
Infinity Wars Prime ended with a big of a bang. Newly appearing but heavily teased Requiem emerged, though she didn't have that name to begin with. and she had a mission to pursue.
Man, everyone gets beheaded these days. Marionette was doing it in Doomsday Clock #6 as well. At one point it was all the rage but then there seemed to be a moratorium on in. Looks like it's been lifted.
So, as the new Infinity Watch gather and prepare for what they believe will be an attack from Thanos. the Guardians are on their way. But first, Peter Quill has a certain Kitty Pryde to get over.
But it's not enough to persuade him to use the Power Stone to open the Soul Stone and replace the piece of her she believes is missing, captured when she was in that Stone (also, where she probably still is in the Marvel movies).
A walk of shame there – but for who? Looks like she will have to find other ways. And while a new Infinity Watch meet on the Earth, Loki has found another version of him, a kind of 'Ace Rimmer' of Mischief Gods. With all the stones and worthy of Mjolnir as well…
Requiem we know (a little) but Devondra we don't. And the Original Universe? The Marvel universe was once designated 616 by Dave Thorpe and Alan Moore before Chris Claremont and Dan Slott gave it wider use. After Secret Wars it became the Prime Universe. Could that be reverting too?
But we have Requiem coming for the stones, and clashing with the Infinity Watch.
Leading to Rocket Raccoon doing the kind of things that superheroes, even ones with guns rarely do, shooting them in the face. Of course, it matters not, if your skin is invulnerable. And you paraphrase The Room.
The nice way was, it seems, kissing Star-Lord. What will the nasty way be? Especially when you have that Power Stone on your sword?
Infinity Wars #1 takes you from a kiss to the kiss of death in one not-so-short issue…
Janitor to aisle seven, spillage to be mopped up…
INFINITY WARS #1 (OF 6)
(W) Gerry Duggan (A) Mike Deodato
As the Infinity Stones come to Earth, so too comes the war for control over them. The nature of the universe itself hangs in the balance as we learn the answer to the question on everyone's lips since "Infinity Wars Prime": WHO IS REQUIEM? Gerry Duggan (DEADPOOL, INFINITY COUNTDOWN) and Mike Deodato Jr. (ORIGINAL SIN, OLD MAN LOGAN) look into the Infinite and bring the truth to light!
