James Tynion IV – Leaving Justice League Dark And Moving Onto New Creator-Owned Books Alongside Batman?

Okay, okay, okay, not every story on Bleeding Cool is going to be pulled from James Tynion IV's newsletter. But today, maybe three of them are. We looked at his plans for Lucius Fox and Luke Fox in the light of the 5G Batman rumours. Then the new look of Gotham. But James also talked about his upcoming plans.

So let's say at the start of 2019, Q4, your work slate looks like this. Hypothetically, of course.

Slot One: Justice League (Biweekly book, but it's a cowriting gig, so it's one slot)
Slot Two: Justice League Dark
Slot Three: Year of the Villain: Hell Arisen
Slot Four: Something is Killing the Children
Slow Burn Side Project: PROJECT WINGBOY

And you are trying to transition, so that by the start of 2020, Q1, your work slate will look like this.

Slot One: Batman (Biweekly Solo Book)
Slot Two: Batman
Slot Three: PROJECT OSWALD
Slot Four: Something is Killing the Children
Slow Burn Side Project: PROJECT WINGBOY

Which would suggest he is coming off Justice League Dark. Which would suggest the recent addition of Ram V as plotter of the series may be upgraded to full writer. So we sadly won't have V and IV on the same book, which is a shame for the person who does the credits.

But what are PROJECT OSWALD and PROJECT WINGBOY? Codenames for creator-owned comics, others for 2020 include PROJECT DALLAS, PROJECT LAKEHOUSE, and more for later years include PROJECT BANDANA, PROJECT LONGTOOTH, PROJECT CHAOS, and PROJECT GUNHAND. Warren Ellis, you are to blame for all this tomfoolery.
