LEGO Announces Buildable NES System That Plays Super Mario Bros!

LEGO is bringing video games to life with their LEGO Nintendo Entertainment System. The buildable game console will include a buildable game cartridge, 1980s tube television, and a controller. The set clocks in at 2,646 pieces, and the controller and game cartridge will be life-size replicas from their original counterparts. To top it all off, the TV can be used to play Super Mario Bros by way of a crank on the side. Use the build crank on the side to watch Mario go through the first level from World 1-1 from the iconic game. This set will also connect with the recently announced interactive Mario mini figure too. Connecting him on top of the TV will sync up when you "play" Super Mario Bros, giving the 8-bit character in the TV some iconic noises and music from the first level. This is a whole new way of interactive collectibles and LEGO has nailed it.

Rebuilding an NES is one thing but LEGO going fans the ability to play a build a scrolling version of Super Mario is a whole other thing. This is a very unique way to connect with your childhood. From the replica controller and Game Pack, this is one set that fans will not want to miss. The LEGO Super Mario Nintendo Entertainment System is priced at $229.99. The set will be exclusive to LEGO stores and will start August 1st and you can find links located here. This will be an easy sell-out collectible for many fans so make sure you save the day.
