A Comic Show – Ant-Man, Suicide Squad, & Superman!

Aaron Haaland of A Comic Shop in Orlando, Florida, writes:

Hey Fandom SDCC is over, we saw tons of comics coming to get excited about (Milestone!), actually liked the Suicide Squad trailer, and won a Batman figure with an original Jim Lee Sketch!

Now it's time to get back to the new comic day A Comic Show! DC had some solid issue twos, Martian Manhunter being a stand out. Black Canary, Green Lantern Lost Army, and Robin Son of Batman continued great new directions. Superman Wonder Woman #19's got a depowered Supes vs the Suicide Squad. I've never been more into the Superman titles as a whole than now.

Ant-Man's Annual is really a one-shot featuring both Pym and Lang right before the movie drops. Nick Spencer's Ant-Man run's been fin, but this can be enjoyed by anyone who hasn't read that. Hawkeye's finale is bloody, raw, emotional, and exactly what I wanted from Fraction and Aja's legendary run. Secret Wars had several tie-ins, and they all were great, but Guardians of Knowhere is my pick of the week. Bendis finally gave us a GotG that felt like DnA!

As for creator owned indie goodness, you can't do any better that Island by Image. You get three full issues by cutting edge creator's in one book for $7.99. Now I'm gonna go play the Chew card game!
