A Comic Show – Southern Sex Bastard Criminals

Aaron Haaland of A Comic Shop in Orlando, Florida, writes:

Hey Fandom! It's a smaller week, but with a few stand outs. DC had some relevant annuals, Batgirl #42, and some Superman secrets. We also got the first collection of the '94-95 Swamp Thing by Morrison and Millar that made my senior year in high school. Star Wars #7's a one-shot featuring Old Ben Kenobi on Tatooine with a young Luke Skywalker (who's more likable than that young Anakin). Thors #2 is more CSI with hammers by Jason Aaron, and X-Men '92 #2 is more nostalgia bomb.

The big deal books were from Image. Southern Bastards #10 has a variant cover with proceeds going to the victims of the Charleston, South Carolina attack. We only ordered the charity cover, and think everyone should show their support in this small way. Though we are southerns here, we don't have pride in that flag that was the symbol of opposition to civil rights and desegregation. We show our southern pride in ways that are inclusive, like food, family, football, and comics! Southern Bastards co-creator Jason Latour explained his stance and this cover here.

Oh, and we LOVED the new issue of Sex Criminals and opened both covers live on video! The end of this show has the Brian Lee O'Malley XXX NSFW cover. It's double bagged for a reason!
