At Archie Comics, You're Damned if You Pre-Order, Damned If You Don't

Archie Comics is sending mixed messages with its latest early previews for Archie 1941 #4 and Jughead: The Hunger #11. The publisher usually sends out comic strips with each of their early previews explaining how to pre-order comic books, usually with some mortal danger facing those who forget or choose not to pre-order.

Take, for example, the strip for Jughead: The Hunger #11

So if you don't pre-order your comics, Frankenmoose will rip the roof of your car and hurl you into the moon. But according to the strip for Archie 1941 #4, even if comics are pre-ordered, it could cause Moose to smash your head your head into your friend's head, potentially causing brain damage.

Those are clear signs of a concussion. And sure, there's probably more of a risk of bodily injury from being hurled into the moon, so it still seems that pre-ordering is the preferable option here… but neither situation sounds particularly fun.

Below, see previews of Archie 1941 #4 and Jughead: The Hunger #11. Final order cutoff for both is today, December 10th.
