Batman's Plans for Black Lightning in Today's Detective Comics #983 [SPOILERS]
Bleeding Cool mentioned that at DC Comics something was worked out between Geoff Johns and Bryan Hill regarding The Outsiders. The classic DC Comics team that was being brought back simultaneously in two different comics with two different results.
With Geoff Johns' version being referred to in Doomsday Clock, and the seeds of Bryan Hill's version set up by Scott Snyder in Metal and now playing out in Detective Comics, starting today.
Could that have added to the delay on this issue? No idea. But the word Outsiders isn't actually said by Batman to Black Lightning, but the implication is clear…
Black Lighting, in On The Outside, and giving us a different team of Outsiders to lead. Potentially. At some point. Maybe to be announced as a new comic book at San Diego Comic-Con? And somehow tying in with the near-future DC Universe version referred to and described in the most recent Doomsday Clock…
I mean, it's not that different to what Batman has already asked of him in previous issues…
But it is different to what Geoff Johns has…
For a start, Black Lightning is in the lead. And the membership looks like it will be a little more Gotham-based…
