BOOM! and WWE Plan NXT Takeover Weekly Event Comic for September
Move over, NXT Takeover Chicago! The biggest event to hit both wrestling and comics is coming in September from BOOM! Studios with WWE: NXT Takeover, a weekly event series, and the worlds of comics and wrestling will never be the same again! That's what happens in event comics, right? Dennis Hopeless and Jake Elphick will be the bookers for this series that tells the "untold stories behind NXT." Each issue of the series focuses on different eras of the WWE developmental brand:
Week One – WWE: NXT TAKEOVER – THE BLUEPRINT #1: In 2012, Triple H and Dusty Rhodes head to Florida to begin the newest era of WWE.
Week Two – WWE: NXT TAKEOVER – PROVING GROUND #1: The Demon King, Finn Bálor, enters the NXT Universe and is confronted by Samoa Joe.
Week Three – WWE: NXT TAKEOVER – INTO THE FIRE #1: The Empress of Tomorrow, Asuka, begins her rise to the NXT Women's Championship, and Bobby Roode becomes "Glorious."
Week Four – WWE: NXT TAKEOVER – REDEMPTION #1: Johnny Gargano and Shayna Baszler make the move to NXT and immediately leave their mark.
The series will feature connecting variant covers by Marco D'Alfonso and regular covers by Lucas Werneck, Aaron Dana, David Nakayama, and Audrey Mok. Look for it in stores this September. Check out video messages from NXT Superstars below, and look at all the pretty covers!
