Captain America And Batman Continue To Match Each Other Beat For Beat
Captain America got shot and killed. Batman got shot and killed.
Batman's partner a long time ago, Robin, now Nightwing, took over the role of Batman
Captain America's partner a long time ago, Bucky, now Winter Soldier, took over the role of Captain America.
In Captain America Returns , Captain America found himself not killed but sent back in time on a journey through timezones trying to make it back to the present day.
In Batman: The Return Of Bruce Wayne, etc etc etc etc.
Batman expanded the franchise as Batman Inc. Captain America expanded the franchise as Captain America Corps.
DC published a new ongoing series, Batman And Robin.
Now Marvel have announced a new series, Captain America And Bucky, taking over the numbering from Captain America, by Ed Brubaker , Marc Andreyko and Chris Samnee.
Okay, it's not quite the same, but damn these seem to be interesting coincidences. The book will be a flashback series, set in Europe before the Americans entered World War II.
Which should tie in nicely with the new film's setting too.
