2813223640_d679fb46da_oBlake Leibel is the 35-year-old comic book creator of United Free Worlds from Devil's Due, Operation Redux from Fantasy Prone and both Moon Lake and Syndrome from Archaia, though no longer in print.

ABC7 reports that he has been arrested  on suspicion of the murder of Iana Kasian, his girlfriend and mother of their young child.

The suspect had barricaded the door of the apartment with furniture, but deputies forced their way inside, searched and found a deceased woman in a bedroom. She had apparently suffered blunt force trauma to the head, Coleman said.

According to sheriff's officials, Leibel was arrested by LAPD just last week on a felony rape charge. He was out on bail at the time of Kasian's killing.

The victim in the rape case was not known.

Blake Leibel also wrote for the Spaceballs cartoon and was working on a Fox comedy focused on marijuana legislation from Rob Weiss, Mark Wahlberg and Steve Levinson.
