Dave Elliott's Shiny New Things
Dave Elliott, the man who has published great work from creators including Alan Moore, Neil Gaiman, Brian Bolland and, basically, anyone decent. He's best been known for facilitating the talents of others, from Atomeka to Radical. But now he's doing it himself. The Weirding Willows is his League Of Extraordinary Fairy Stories, with Alice, Frankenstein's Monster, Mowgli, Badger, Mole, Ratty, the White Rabbit, Toad, Davey Pan, Thumbellina and Tom Thumb teamed up to fight flying monkeys.
Above is the direct sales market cover to Heavy Metal out this summer, featuring the team. They'll get two stories before jumping to Elliott's Monster Massacre in October.
We've talked about the Odyssey book he's writing as well. Dave is keen to show off the first colour piece for that book by Garrie Gastonny and Sakti Yuwono, telling the life of a superhero from 1942 until 2011.
And then Dave brings us three women he calls the Hellish Harlots Of Hades – "Herjah, Svypol and Mysta are Valkyrie that sometimes don't wait for someone to die before they haul them in" with artists Artgerm and Kunkka for this cover, but drawn by Dave Wilkins.
