FOOL: DC Comics To Move Back To The East Coast In 2017
Bleeding Cool was the first to announce the news that DC Comics had made it official – they were moving the company from its Manhattan offices into Warner Bros' headquarters in Burbank, California.
And that's exactly what they did, with around seventy employees making the move West and everyone else scattering into the job market, or retiring.
Well, now it seems, just after editors are no longer in their mandatory year long contract with the publisher after accepting relocation costs for them and their families, that DC are moving back again.
Apparently less than stellar sales on titles mean that the Warner Bros internal market can no longer justify taking up such Bubank corporate real estate for the company.
And instead the publisher will return East – but not to Manhattan.
Instead, DC Comics will take new office space in New Jersey, with lower rents and overheads, taking over the offices of Jungle Habitat owned by Warners, and closed since the seventies.
Recently the area hit the headlines as it was reported that a number of escaped animals from that abandoned safari adventure still roamed the forests there, which has kept the property values low.
Dan DiDio has already bid for a pith helmet on eBay, something he wishes to take with him.
