Are the DC Giants Shipping on a Bi-Monthly Schedule?

A month ago the DC Giant books (which most call the DC Walmart books because they were exclusive to Walmart for over a year) stopped being exclusive to Walmart and were available to order into comic book shops but also still available at Walmart. Instead of being exclusive to Walmart, the Walmart versions now have "exclusive reprint covers" and show up earlier at Walmart (anywhere from a few weeks, to over a month, or longer). The first titles to show up in Walmart were:

Batman Giant (Volume 2) #1
The Flash Giant (Volume 2) #1
Swamp Thing Giant (Volume 2) #1
Wonder Woman Giant (Volume 2) #1

Along with three one-shot titles:

Scooby Doo 50^th Anniversary Giant #1
Villains Giant #1
Ghosts Giant #1

And the still Walmart exclusive Superman Giant (Volume 1) #15 (including Tom King and Andy Kubert's part 11 of their 12 part serial Up In The Sky).

Except for Swamp Thing Giant (Volume 2) #1 (due October 23^rd) all of these titles have reached comic book shops, and Walmart will be seeing the second month batch of books showing up soon. Bleeding Cool has talked with several creators and the Giant line is something that several creators, from Gail Simone, to Jeff Parker (including work on the upcoming Superman Giant (Volume 2), to John Layman, we know are working on and producing material for upcoming issues. Except according to the solicits for comic book shops you'd have no idea of that because they are bare bones…

Now these solicits get really odd when you look at them as some of the solicits from December (Flash Giant #2) are set to go on sale before comics solicited in November (DC War Giant #1 or Wonder Woman Giant #2).

So what is going on?

Well what seems to be most likely is the amount of titles are being scaled back per month to six instead of the seven (eight if you count the Superman Giant (Volume 1) Walmart only exclusive) in future months and that the main titles are going bi-monthly with 4 to 5 main titles and one special.

The main titles being:

Batman Giant (Volume 2)
Wonder Woman Giant (Volume 2)
The Flash Giant (Volume 2)
Swamp Thing Giant (Volume 2)
Teen Titans Go! Giant
Aquaman Giant
DC Super Hero Girls Giant
Superman Giant (Volume 2)

Now the Bi-Monthly idea (or a staggered shipping schedule of some sort) seems to be supported by the solicits, and the first issues of the Volume 2 Giants had none of the "next month" blurbs, a feature found in all the Volume 1 Walmart exclusive comics.

We'll be finding out exactly what titles are coming real soon as the October books for Walmart will be showing up very soon and will at least include:

AQUAMAN GIANT #1

This issue includes two new stories:
o "Aquaman Vs. Black Manta," a 16-page story written by Steve Orlando with art by Daniel Sampere
o "Attacked by Scorpio," an eight-page story written by Marv Wolfman with art by Pop Mhan

o "Throne of Atlantic: Prologue," from Aquaman #14
o "A Queen in Exile," from Mera: Queen of Atlantis #1
