As well as well known runs on Green Lantern/Green Arrow and Batman with Neal Adams, The Shadow with Michael Kaluta and The Question with Denys Cowan, and editing Frank Miller on Daredevil (and firing his writer to let Frank take the reins) he spent an inordinate amount of time as editor of the Batman titles before retiring. Bleeding Cool readers may also recall the column "How To Write Comics And Graphic Novels" he would write for Bleeding Cool to accompany his NYU course.

And very occasionally, he is persuaded to return to write a new comic book. And in December, it happens one more time.

The DC Universe Holiday Special 2017 will feature Superman, Wonder Woman and the Flash as they deliver powerful messages of hope like only The Worlds Greatest Super-Heroes can! Plus: Sgt. Rock fights the Nazis on Hanukah, the Teen Titans take on the literal ghost of Christmas past, and Swamp Thing battles that creeping feeling of existential dread!

But it will also contain Dennis'  return to comics with an all-new Batman story.

$9.99, out on December 6th…
