Free On Bleeding Cool: The First 19 Pages of Headhunter #3 – Will a Homeless, Super-Powered Vigilante Make a Good Dad?
Nineteen pages may be a full $3.99 comic to most publishers but it's only a third of a $3.99 Binge Book from Sitcomics. Apparently, when we ran Sitcomics Bleeding Cool previews earlier in the year, it helped get a few new faces into a few new comic shops last time around so hopefully history will repeat itself. So we're going to run three of them this week. We ran 19 pages of Startup #3 two days ago, and now we have another.
"Hello again! And here's the second of three free 19 page previews to post daily M-W on Bleeding Cool. It's Sitcomics' third superhero title Headhunter drawn by longtime Hollywood animator Steven E. Gordon, who worked on several Ralph Bakshi films as well as Marvel cartoon X-Men: Evolution. It features a new twist on third person narration courtesy of Sir Humphrey Attenborough (Sitcomics' fictional answer to Sir David Attenborough) so that readers have a "voice" to go with those caption boxes. Here's the solicitation copy for the full 64 page Binge Book edition which costs just $3.99 and arrives in stores July 31st (with advance copies available at my Small Press table K-04 during this week's San Diego Comic Con.) Headhunter Binge Book Headhunter rescues an orphaned baby and decides to raise her as his own. Unfortunately, the Heroes Union is convinced that a homeless, super-powered vigilante isn't cut out for fatherhood! It's a family-friendly, 64-page, self-contained epic for only $3.99 from writer Darin Henry (KC Undercover), artist Steven E. Gordon (X-Men: Evolution), colorist Glenn Whitmore and letterer Marshall Dillon. Cover by Ron Frenz & Sal Buscema. Thanks again, Darin Henry"
