As you might suspect from the title, Clockwerx is a steampunk graphic novel released this week by Humanoids. Previously unavailable in an English language edition, but written by USA-based authors Jason Henderson (Sword of Dracula, Ben 10, The Castle of Horror Podcast here on Bleeding Cool), Tony Salvaggio, and Izu, and drawn by the fabulous Jean-Baptiste Hostache, the book has appeared in French, Italian, German and Spanish. Set in Victorian London (well, that is proper steampunk, right?), Clockwerx features a woman who runs a team of mech pilots and her war against big commerce. And it's a murder mystery to boot.
Humanoids describe the book thus:
London, 1899. A series of mysterious deaths on the shipping docks have an ex-Scotland Yard officer on the hunt for clues. What he uncovers is a war between a huge corporation and a renegade group of individuals, with both parties fighting for a powerful new energy source. A cross-Atlantic collaboration between American authors Jason Henderson and Tony Salvaggio, and French illustrator Jean-Baptiste Hostache.
Available in a softcover trade, the book clocks in (pun intended) at 112 full-color pages.
