In This Week's Captain America, Hydra Invades Sokovia…
Captain America: Steve Rogers #7 continues the story of Captain America, rewritten to be a Hydra sleeper agent, plotting to overthrow the current Hydra leader, the Red Skull, and manipulating all around him to do so.
In past issues, the series has shown the Red Skull speaking lines of infamy that are not unanalogous to those of Donald Trump.
As well as those from terrorists from a more left-wing ideologue.
Back in Captain America: Steve Rogers #5, we had the first appearance of Eastern European country Sokovia, famed of Age Of Ultron and the Sokovian Protocols of Agents Of SHIELD. Hydra was about to stage a coup when Civil War II and the existence of Ulysses literally interrupted the plot. Even though Civil War II is yet to conclude, it does seem that the threat of precognitive justice has gone away and this week, Hydra goes back into Sokovia.
See, Captain Marvel was right.
The comic plays up the attractiveness of a fascist force that just barges around, without worry about human rights, in an attempt to make Hydra great again. And, basically using similar language, "liberators" etc, but doing a better job that the Allied Forces did in Iraq…
Before almost breaking out into the theme from Cheers…
Captain America: Steve Rogers #7 out on Wednesday…
