Joker Knows Bruce Is Batman But Has A Plan (Secret Files #3 Spoilers)
At the end of Batman #85, by James Tynion IV and Guillem March, we had a Joker contemplating unveiling the identity of Batman, as Superman had done, confessing to the world that he was Clark Kent.
But also realising that such a decision would be the final battle between the Joker and Batman.
Well, in the teasers released by DC Comics today, the Joker looks like he's well on the way to working it out.
With Jason Todd, Dick Grayson, Tim Drake and Damian Wayne tagged as Robins, and probably Barbara Gordon as Batgirl. Once you have that, can Bruce Wayne be far behind? Well in today's Batman Secret Files #3, it seems not. While all the attention will be on Batman #92, it's Batman Secret Files #3 (and possibly Nightwing #71 and the Joker 80th Anniversary) where things are really going down in The Joker War. Approaching Deathstroke with Punchline in tow.
Letting Deathstroke know that Joker knows what Deathstroke already knows.
That Bruce Wayne and Batman are one and the same. That the Joker knows – and the Joker know that Deathstroke knew as well.
And so that's Joker's plan. To get to Batman through Bruce Wayne. To keep Batman busy, and attack at his most vulnerable point…
…his funding. Bruce Wayne funds his actions as the Batman. It's where he gets all those wonderful toys. So the Joker is going after his billions.
Which, as we saw in Batman #90 was The Designer's plan for Catwoman to take down Bruce Wayne…
So Joker's plan is to distract Batman with plenty of assaults, steal Bruce Wayne's money when he's distracted and then for the J0ker to use that money to pay for it all. Sounds like when Ron Perelman bought Marvel. But for all that you'll have to wait for Batman #93... not Batman #92.
