Lack Of Info Regarding Stan Lee Refunds At ACBC (Refund UPDATE)

So Stan Lee cancelled his appearance at the Atlantic City Boardwalk Comic Con starting today. This is not uncommon, Stan Lee in his nineties has had to cancel a number of appearances in recent years due to a variety of reasons. And he still has the reputation of one of the hardest working men in comics. But his cancellation at ACBC has caused a number of issues.

Rob Liefeld Despite Stan Lee canceling his appearance for all 3 days at the Atlantic City Boardwalk Comic Con the web site still advertises his appearance. Also, no J. Scott Campbell either. Be warned.

And while the site updated to feature this: stan Other parts of the site still list the following: main_fit_300 There have been enquiries about refunds.

Many enquiries.

Many many enquiries.

And while the official site or twitter account isn't saying anything, some have received assurances. Not very sure assurances though. And leaving folk in the lurch…

As ever with shows, especially new shows, its not that there are disappointments, but it's how you handle those. While refunding anyone for guests who can't make it is impractical, when it's someone that so many people will come just to see, and buy specific VIP packages that cost hundreds of dollars, is probably in order. And not in the form of signed Stan Lee artefacts either, sadly..

It happened in Amazing Arizona Comic Con in 2013 – they issued a statement giving people who had bought signing tickets  a choice of getting their items signed remotely, or a refund. It's something ACBC might want to consider, and if so making it public…

UPDATE: Stan Lee (or someone writing like him) has posted his apology – as well as a promise of refunds for those who want them. Possibly it should be posted somewhere a little more prominently.

But fear not, troops, for your #Generalissimo has sent Iron Man's Hall of Armor, my own personal collection and more in my absence for the spectacular Stan Lee Museum, as well as some sensational surprises to look out for!
