Marvel's Longest-Running Uninterrupted Ongoing Comic Hits 50th Issue in July
Marvel's longest-running ongoing comic book will reach its milestone 50th issue in July, Marvel's solicitations revealed today. Star Wars #50, by Kieron Gillen and Salvador Larroca, is headed to stores this summer, with multiple variant covers and a promise of "the most epic story done yet in a Star Wars comic." Check it out:

Of course, there are other books which have published more issues than Star Wars, and thanks to Marvel Legacy, some with higher numbers on the cover, but it looks like Star Wars is the only current Marvel ongoing to make it to 50 issues without either a #1 issue reboot or a return to legacy numbering (to be followed later by a #1 issue reboot). It's almost as if, if you just leave a comic alone to tell consistently good stories over a long period of time, it will generate sales on its own and not need to be rebooted annually. Almost.
