Mould Map – A Kramer's Ergot for Britain?
When reinventing the comic medium in brand new ways, the Americans have Kramer's Ergot, McSweeney's and Building Stories.
But Britain? Britain has Mould Map. And a third volume is on its way. When/if it gets kickstartered, that is.
Mould Map is an anthology series commissioning all new work from 35 artists from around the world. Each issue starts with an art direction text and set of images. For Mould Map 3 , the artists were asked to explore our relationship to technology, the environment, architecture and each other.
This edition is an epic 224 page book and poster set, in various size formats and 9 pantone inks from leaders of the international art / comics scene including CF, Sammy Harkham, Yuichi Yokoyama, Olivier Schrauwen and James Jarvis.
And, just to annoy everyone, Mould Map 3 will only be available during a brief pre-order period via Kickstarter – for which there are ten days left.
You can bet Paul Gravett has ordered his copy. I'm off to order mine. Why not join me?
