Previews Of This Week's Two Bestselling Comics, Batman: Lost #1 And Detective Comics #968
Welcome to this week's two best-selling comic books, in comic stores at least, if past examples are anything to go by. Both Batman books, both sharing a writer, but worlds apart in their place in the DC Universe.
SyFyWire has run a preview of Batman: Lost #1, though they think it's drawn by Olivier Coipel – he just did the cover. And they think it's just written by Scott Snyder.
Instead, it's written by Scott Snyder, James Tynion IV and Joshua Williamson, and drawn by Doug Mahnke, Jaime Mendoza, Yanick Paquette and Jorge Jimenez with additional inks from Jamie Mendoza.
A Dark Nights: Metal one-shot, it's part of the Snyder Island set of books, hitching themselves to the Dan DiDio mainland ahead of the New Age Of DC Heroes line being launched.
It also seems to be a deliberate take on one of Scott Snyder's famous tropes, stories being told by an older man to a young child…
And on the other side, the Geoff Johns-aligned line is Detective Comics #968 by James Tynion IV (playing both sides) with Alvaro Martinez
and Raul Fernandez, with this preview from Multiversity.
With a future Dick Grayson Batman from a fascistic future travelled back in time to put right what once went wrong, hoping his next leap will be the leap home.
"A LONELY PLACE OF LIVING" finale! Tim Drake is back on Earth — but if the deadly threat he brought back with him from outside of time has its way, it won't be for long…and this shadowy figure wants to take one of Batman's team down with him, too! Everything Tim died for the first time is at risk, if he can't survive this attack!
Will you be down for both?
