Dan DiDio Praises Howard Chaykin's 'Ruff And Reddy' Remake
DC co-publisher Dan DiDio posted to Facebook, regarding a preview of the new Ruff And Reddy comic by Howard Chaykin and Mac Rey, posted to Adventures In Poor Taste, saying:
"This book makes me smile for many reasons. First, it was a chance to bring back the first two characters Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera created for their studio. But now, they are so obsure, some folks responsible for their well being, didn't even know they existed.
Second, the idea for the book came out of conversations I had with the fine folks at WB Animation. Love talking comics and cartoons with those guys.
Lastly, the book is genuinely good. It's a cartoon Sunshine Boys done by veteran writer who lived that life and a new artist (to DC) who captures the tone of the world of anthropromorphs perfectly.
People might ask, why do this book? It's because it's good and we should always be making good books. Best. DD"
He didn't name the creators of the comic, titled The Ruff & Reddy Show, but that's Howard Chaykin and Mac Rey. And as a result, it may be getting more eyes than the usual Hanna Barbera title. Take a peek yourself at a darker anthropomorphic world below, and grab the comic in stores on October 25th.
