A little interesting that Doctor Who hit the world in the same year that the Avengers (and a bunch of other Universe-igniting early Marvel stuff) did. Something in the air, that year — but of course we already knew that. Almost 50 years later, here we are: All of the rumours were true. Timed (approximately) to coincide with the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who's first screening, Mark Gatiss has written a 90-minute film for BBC Two, dramatising the story of how the show came to be.
