EXCLUSIVE: Kingdom Comics – The Official Misney Response

mickey-ears_1One of the minor aspects of the Marvel/Disney announcement, is what happens with Kingdom Comics, the graphic novel publishing imprint from Disney. The intent was to take Disney movies and publish them as graphic novels. Titles were yet to be announced and, at the Chicago Comic Con last August, publisher Christian Beranek had been asked by Disney to hold off on announcing any at that point.

I wonder why.

Anyway, Bleeding Cool now has an official response, as to what will happen to Kingdom Comics.

"There are multiple creative centers at Disney including Kingdom Comics which will continue to develop and create new film projects for The Walt Disney Studios as well as re-imagine and rejuvenate motion pictures from the Disney live-action Vault."

Which doesn't actually clarify anything really, save that Kingdom Comics projects don't have to be absorbed into Marvel. But then again, doesn't say that they won't either.

However I understand that, for the foreseeable future, Kingdom Comics will keep on keeping on. Who knows, they may be able to announce a project sometime soon…
