Stephanie Leonidas To Star In Cursed Pirate Girl
It's a sweet idea. Stephanie Leonidas (Mirrormask) is performing the lead role of the Cursed Pirate Girl in an audio adaptation of the comic book of the same name from Olympian Publishing.
However unlike the likes of Superman Doomsday, Knightfall and Judge Dredd, it won't be broadcast on radio or released on CD. Instead it will be performed at book events this autumn.
I've always considered radio/audio and comics to be complimentary media. There's something about the "filling in the gaps" when readinga comic book and hearing a radio show that seems to use similar parts of the brain, despite one operating entirely visually and the other entirely aurally. Thee should be more of this thing.
I don't think anyone would have been disappointed with a radio adaptation of Watchmen…
