On Wednesday, on my way to the comic shop, I'm planning to pop into the National Gallery in London. They've got Van Gogh's Sunflowers until the end of April,so I thought I might just.

So what a wonderful surprise it was to come across this graphic novel on its way, Vincent by Barbara Stok, out in March from SelfMadeHero.

During his short stay in Arles, Provence, Van Gogh had one of his most intense, creative periods that is the focus of Barbara Stok's book. It is an evocative account of his life between 1888 -1890 crafted together by a selection of letters from his brother, Theo, as well as interpretations of some of his most famous paintings including Van Gogh's Bedroom, Wheat Field with Crows, and Starry Night.

The book was commissioned in conjunction with the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and marks the second of SelfMadeHero's Art Masters series, which already includes Rembrandt with the lives of with the lives of Dalí and Picasso to follow.

Here's a brief look at what we can expect…
