Scarlet Witch Moving In With Brother Voodoo in Avengers: No Road Home #1 (Spoilers)

It was in Uncanny Avengers that magical practitioners Scarlet Witch and Brother Voodoo – Wanda Maximoff and Jericho Drumm – got it together.

Not much has been explored between them since. But in tomorrow's Avengers: No Road Home #1, that all kicks off as former lovers Wanda and Clint Barton catch up. And we learn that Wanda and Jericho have moved in together.

Which is a good enough reason for Wanda to clear out the last of Clint's thing she's had hanging around her place. Deodorant, a couple of Funko pops probably – oh and some deadly weapons in the right hands.

Oh and yes, some of the most reality-warping elements in the whole universe which could, in the right hands, be Earth-shattering, a vial of Pym particles just hanging around.

Aren't you glad the rats never gnawed through those? And with that, alongside Jesus Aburtov's ominous lighting, we coin the term 'Chekhov's Pym Particles'. Will they save the day in issue #10 of Avengers: No Road Home? Yes.

Because this is a gathering issue. A gathering of Marvel Heroes by Voyager against a deadly destructive foe, already attacking Olympus but not stopping there.

Which helps address a few continuity issues along the way too. Waid and Ewing seem sympatico in that desire…

Avengers: Road Home #1 is a very pleasing start, and the stars are Paco Medina, Juan Vlasco, with a style that is somewhere between Jim Cheung and Kevin Nolan with the lightness of touch of Mark Bagley. With colourist Jesus Aburtov keeping it glowy and light, even when the circumstances are the darkest… and the Immortal Hulk and the fate of Olympus will see to that.
