Article Summary

  • Batman: White Knight: Absolute Edition hardcover release delayed by two months to July 14, 2026.
  • Sean Gordon Murphy reimagines Gotham with the Joker as its last hope and Batman as its greatest threat.
  • The Absolute Edition features both color and black-and-white volumes in a deluxe, oversized slipcase.
  • This definitive edition collects all eight issues of the acclaimed Batman: White Knight miniseries.

You know, they are going to have to do something before the Absolute line gets collected in the Absolute format, oversized hardcovers, sometimes in a slipcase, as originally pioneered for the USA at DC/Wildstorm by Scott Dunbier. Are we really going to have an Absolute Absolute Batman? But for now, the confusion is only relegated to titles such as the Batman: White Knight: Absolute Edition, collecting the Sean Gordon Murphy Elseworld series in that rather impressive and rather heavy format. And collecting it twice, one volume in colour and the other in black-and white, slipcased together. But it seems it might be too much for the printing and shipping folk right now. It could even, I suppose, be stuck off the Strait of Hormuz along with Roberta Gregory's Bitchy Bitch, I don't know. But what I do know is that the Batman: White Knight: Absolute Edition is going to be late. Very late. Two months late. Originally planned for the middle of next month, the 12th of May, it has now been further delayed to the 14th of July, that's a nine-week delay…

Batman: White Knight: Absolute Edition Hardcover by Sean Murphy
In a Gotham turned upside down, the Joker becomes its last hope, and Batman its greatest threat. Writer/artist Sean Murphy's groundbreaking reinvention of the Batman mythos arrives in an oversize, deluxe format. In this bold and thought-provoking tale, the Joker, now cured of his madness and calling himself Jack Napier, sets out to expose Gotham's deepest corruption and hold Batman accountable for his unchecked war on crime. As Napier rises to political power and the city begins to embrace his vision of reform, old wounds reopen and new secrets surface, challenging the very natures of heroism, justice, and redemption. Collecting the complete eight-issue miniseries, this definitive edition is a must-have for fans of mature, character-driven storytelling that redefines the line between savior and sinner. Collects Batman: White Knight #1-8 into a two-volume set showcasing both color and black & white versions of the story.
